Filipino Martial Arts Seminar – Romania 2012

Taking place on the 13th and 14th of April in Bucharest,

the event brought together a group of enthusiasts

coming from fighting systems like Krav Maga, Muay Thai,

Boxing, BJJ, Karate, Wrestling, Pekiti Tirsia Kali etc.

Being addressed mainly to non-practitioners of FMA,

the purpose of the seminar was not to literally start teaching

the progression of a particular system, but rather to offer

an overview by presenting main concepts

and working on different levels of application as examples.

The seminar was structured on four modules, pointing out

also the variety of Filipino Martial Arts:

1. DeCampo 1-2-3 Original – long range stickfighting,

from the lineage Mawe Caballero – Tony Yarwood

2. NUDDA Filipino Boxing – founded by Antonio Faedda

3. Igmat Baraw Knife Fighting System – founded by Cat Necula

4. Kalye Todo Arnis – short range stickfighting –

founded by Bobby Dela Rosa.

The first three modules were taught by Instr. Cat Necula (UK),

the fourth module by yours trully.

Both as practitioner and as instructor, the seminar was

a very educative and enjoyable experience

and I want to thank all the attendants for their high level

of interest and participation.

My gratitude to my respected instructor and friend Cat Necula

for giving me the opportunity to assist him

and to teach next to him.

Many thanks to our friends Catalin Vlad

and Serban Cantacuzino for putting so much effort

in organizing the seminar and making it happen.

Special thanks to the media personalities

Mircea Badea and Alexandru Ganci

for supporting and promoting the seminar on their websites

and TV shows and for attending and training with us.

Last but not least, I want to thank to my dedicated student

and training partner Petr Bartu for joining us from Austria

and for assisting me on the Kalye Todo module.

Thank you all and see you next time!
