The burden

While walking along a river, two buddhist monks

saw a woman in danger to drown, fighting fo her life.

Without hesitating, one of them jumped in the water

and saved the woman.

The other monk watched very indignated

his companion’s deed, but didn’t said anything

and they continued their journey.

Only three days later he couldn’t resist anymore and bursted:

” How could you do that?? You broke your vows,

how can you still call yourself a follower of Buddha??

You touched a woman! ”

To which the other monk replied calmly:

” I touched the woman for a few minutes,

but you carry her on your back for three days! ”
